UpMenu vs TouchBistro in 2026: Which Should You Choose?

These two tools solve different problems. UpMenu is built around getting a restaurant online — websites, branded apps, commission-free ordering, and digital marketing — while TouchBistro is built around running a restaurant floor, with a point-of-sale system at its core and tableside ordering, kitchen displays, and floor plan management built around it. That core difference shapes almost every comparison that follows.

Pricing

UpMenu publishes three flat monthly plans: $49/month (BASIC), $89/month (STANDARD), and $169/month (PREMIUM), all billed monthly. There’s no annual commitment mentioned in the captured data, and no commission on orders.

TouchBistro publishes its plans on its pricing page; we weren’t able to capture the current figures this round, so check there directly. If transparent, today-visible pricing matters to your decision, UpMenu is the only one of the two that offers it.

Features, Theme by Theme

Point of Sale

TouchBistro’s POS is the center of the product. The captured features include Point of Sale, Tableside Ordering, Floor Plan & Table Management, Front of House, Back of House, Kitchen Display System, Customer Facing Display, Staff Management, and the new TouchBistro One device — described as letting you “take orders and payments tableside, all from one compact device.” This is a mature, hardware-oriented restaurant operations system.

UpMenu does list POS-related items — a Pizza POS System, Mobile POS System (Handheld POS), Delivery POS, Quick Service POS, and Online Ordering POS — but the captured data explicitly labels the main Restaurant POS as “Coming soon.” For a restaurant that needs a full in-venue POS today, that’s a meaningful distinction.

Online Ordering & Digital Presence

UpMenu is purpose-built here. Captured features include a commission-free Online Ordering System, a drag-and-drop Website Builder with 40+ templates, a branded iOS and Android Mobile App, QR Code Menu, Google Food Ordering, Order Aggregation (managing orders from multiple delivery platforms in one screen), Contactless Ordering, Pay at the Table, and a White Label Delivery App with Delivery Management for couriers and drivers.

TouchBistro has Online Ordering (“Take orders directly on your own website”) and a QR Code Menu in its captured features, but the depth of online-channel tooling is narrower compared to what UpMenu lists.

Marketing & Guest Engagement

UpMenu captures a full marketing stack: Email Marketing, SMS Marketing, a Loyalty Program, Restaurant CRM, Gift Cards, a Feedback System, and a Restaurant Customer Data Platform — all listed as product features.

TouchBistro captures Gift Cards, Loyalty, and Marketing (“Put your restaurant marketing on autopilot”) as add-on or guest-engagement modules. Both tools have something here, but UpMenu’s captured list goes further in named marketing capabilities, including SMS and a CRM layer.

Inventory & Labor

TouchBistro captures Inventory Management (“Save time, reduce food costs”) and Labor Management (“Manage and schedule your team while keeping labor costs in check”) as named features. Neither of those categories appears in UpMenu’s captured feature list.

Chains, Franchises & Multi-Unit

UpMenu explicitly captures a Chains & Franchises category with Restaurant Franchise Management Software, Multi Restaurant Delivery Software, and Multi Branded Portals. TouchBistro captures Multi Unit as a restaurant type it supports, but without the same franchise-management tooling named in the data.

Analytics & Reporting

Both tools list reporting. UpMenu captures Analytics & Reporting as a feature item. TouchBistro captures Reporting & Analytics as a content/blog category and Profit Management as a feature. Neither fact sheet goes deeper than the category names, so it’s not possible to compare depth here.

What Users Report (Where We Have Data)

We don’t have third-party review data for UpMenu.

For TouchBistro, some users report friction with customer support, invoicing and payments, price and value, the mobile app, and reliability and bugs. These are worth asking about specifically on a demo call or trial — not dealbreakers necessarily, but recurring themes in scanned reviews.
